Oasis of Peace

Problems arise when people simply do not understand one another. At the community school in Neve Shalom-Wahat al-Salam - named in both Hebrew and Arabic - children learn both languages at a very young age, thus cultivating a spirit of communication and mutual understanding. The village is a symbol of peace, jointly established by Jewish and Palestinian Arab citizens of Israel, and engaged in educational work for peace, equality and understanding between the two peoples.


Committee for Democracy in Information Technology

In the favelas of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, computer scientist Rodrigo Baggio, has been setting up Information Technology schools for young people of the community.
